Job Description
Role Purpose
To ensure the safe, accurate, and compliant handling, storage, dispensing, and documentation of pharmaceutical products, while supporting efficient branch operations and delivering high-quality service to hospitals, pharmacies, and patients.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations
* Verify and dispense medicines against valid prescriptions and purchase orders.
* Ensure accurate product selection, batch verification, and quantity checking.
* Maintain compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and company SOPs.
* Guide patients and customers on the safe use, storage, and handling of medicines within the pharmacist’s professional scope.
Inventory Management
* Monitor stock levels and maintain optimum inventory.
* Conduct daily checks for near-expiry and expired products.
* Coordinate with the Branch Manager for stock replenishment.
* Minimize wastage through effective inventory control.
Cold Chain Management
* Maintain required storage temperatures for cold-chain medicines.
* Record refrigerator and cold-room temperatures as per SOP.
* Report and address temperature deviations immediately.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure proper storage conditions for all medicines.
* Maintain batch-wise records and documentation.
* Assist during internal audits and regulatory inspections.
* Follow Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Order Processing
* Verify prescriptions and hospital purchase orders.
* Prepare and check orders before dispatch.
* Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery.
Customer Support
* Respond to medicine availability enquiries.
* Help source specialty and hard-to-find medicines when possible.
* Maintain courteous and professional communication with customers and healthcare professionals.
Documentation
* Maintain stock registers and inventory records.
* Record returns, damages, and expired medicines.
* Support monthly stock audits and physical inventory verification.
Qualifications
* D.Pharm or B.Pharm with valid State Pharmacy Council registration.
* Registered Pharmacist license is mandatory.
Experience
* 1–3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or pharmaceutical distribution is preferred.
* Fresh registered pharmacists may also be considered.
