Job Title: Quality Control Associate
Department: Quality Assurance/Workshop Operations
Reports To: Workshop Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our
bike fleet and workshop operations. This position involves conducting thorough assessments,
performing quality checks, managing battery charging, and implementing security measures
to maintain operational efficiency and prevent losses.
Responsibilities:
● Bike Assessment and Fault Marking:
o Conduct detailed assessments of incoming bikes, identifying and documenting
any faults or damages.
o Accurately mark identified faults for repair and maintenance teams.
o Maintain accurate records of bike assessments and fault findings.
● Post-Repair Quality Control:
o Conduct thorough quality checks on repaired bikes to ensure they meet
established standards.
o Test bike performance and functionality, including brakes, lights, and other
critical components.
o Apply Quality Control (QC) check stickers to bikes that pass inspection.
o Maintain accurate records of QC checks.
● Tool Audits:
o Conduct periodic audits of workshop tools to ensure inventory accuracy and
identify missing or damaged items.
o Maintain accurate records of tool audits and report any discrepancies.
● Security Checks:
o Conduct bag checks and frisking of employees at the end of each shift to
prevent tool theft incidents.
o Maintain confidentiality and professionalism during security checks.
o Adhere to all security protocols.
● Shop Floor Management:
o Ensure to reduce idle time of mechanics
o Ensure all bikes are oiled and greased properly
● Bike Loading and unloading:
o Ensure that the bikes loading/unloading process is taken care of with proper
safety measures assuring asset safety.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
● Battery Removal TAT (Turnaround Time):
o Measure and minimize the time taken to remove batteries from dropped bikes
and place them in YCUs.
o Meet the set target of Battery removal TAT.
● Bikes Assessed Quantity, TAT, and Accuracy of Fault Marking:
o Track the number of bikes assessed per shift/day.
o Measure and minimize the turnaround time for bike assessments.
o Ensure a high degree of accuracy in identifying and marking faults.
● Bike Performance (MTTF - Mean Time To Failure) Post QC:
o Monitor the performance and reliability of bikes after QC checks.
o Maximize the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) of bikes post QC.
o Minimize the number of bikes that fail after QC.
Required Skills and Abilities:
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
● Ability to follow procedures and instructions.
● Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of bike components.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality.
● Ability to adhere to security protocols.
● Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting batteries and conducting bike
inspections.
